The best answer I can give is .... "it depends". Small caliber stuff would be easier to swage, large caliber stuff would simply require too much force to be practical. Small caliber stuff is also more of a challenge to cast accurately....likely why the airgun pellet molds that were produced for a while never went very far.
Each has its place.
