That makes sense. So I guess you kind of have to rest your thumb on the side or cup the grip in a strange manner then.

Regardless of that little fudge up, it looks like it pieces together to be a solid gun.

Yeah you have to rest it on the side, its not optimal but it works. I have friend who is giving me some walnut so I may carve another and include a thumbhole.

I would do just that. Walnut is a nice wood. Sand it nice and high to about 600 and then use a low build clear finish on it like tung oil or wipe on polyurethane. It'll get nice and dark for you.

Just fill it up again with some wood , glue it in place and stick to the original plan.
It all looks awsome!

Fantastic. Simply fantastic. Of course knowing that you're going to put a better stock on helps my assessment

EDIT: Once you have the other stock fitted and working, you should cut this one to be a pistol grip and treat it as though it were a tactical shotgun. With the option for switching them out, this would be worth it perhaps.

yeah the electronics and battery are in the stock. plus the second stock will not be carved for some time. Also do you guys think I should add a wooden handguard on the air chamber?

Well it was an ignorant thought I had then.

I don't think you need a wooden hand guard. That chamber looks great. Whats not so great is the emptiness between the chamber and the barrel. I would put a piece of wood in there. It would balance out the aesthetic of the gun.

maybe it would be a good idea to build a rectangular silencer/shroud for it ? you know one that would hide the barrel and the chamber ?
