Fantastic achievement and I hope it leads to more applied electronics in spudguns, but as you say it does seem a little odd to have put all that time and effort into something what won't penetrate a piece of paper...

See the shotgun?

My desire for devastation is satisfied elsewhere; my creations are made for harmless fun.

Aren't you guys sick of reinventing the piston valve again and again? There are other worlds to explore

There are other worlds to explore, but most people don't build for innovation. They build for a couple of reasons: they have something they want to achieve, and spudgun meats the criteria like t-shirt guns, paintball guns, airsoft guns, etc. ; some build for the pure joy of creating something that works ; some build for sheer power. To ask for everybody to think too far outside the box when what they need is inside is unnecessarily pushy

Thanks for the comments, BTB. I'll demonstrate the gun some more when I finally get time off from school. Still hasn't happened yet.

Perhaps it's unnecessarily rude to lecture me on a harmless remark directed at those who thought nothing of carrying my thread off topic; clearly demonstrating a lack of consideration for others as I apparently do.

I've been building things for years and I've had more distinct "reasons" for doing so than I can remember. I would certainly be among the last to push one particular reason or motivation onto another person. I've merely observed an area in which this hobby has lacked progress and spent my time working to contribute something to that area with the hope of showing others what good can come of it, nothing more. I'm certainly not "asking" anything of this forum; only contributing.

Should you decide to acknowledge that or not, I'd appreciate having my thread back now.
