Well got to shoot it today!

After shooting this $0 little investment with about $5 worth of "air" and some lead balls it sure does make me reconsider what my goals are in this hobby...

Needless to say all of my PVC creations are up for donation or to be burnt...

Pics and movie to come! :D

I got real tired of starting at the photos trying to guess what it really looked like and how rusty it was. I took the liberty of doing some white balance on the photo using the Pepsi can for a white reference. Thanks for including that in the photo. It helped lots.

Good job Tech! That is defiantly a bit more accurate example of what it looks like, maybe a bit rich on the red but that could just be my monitor!

Here's a few photos of today's fun...

While I was browsing Youtube I found a video of a cannon that looked very similar in action! Unfortunately my video became corrupted so hopefully this similar video will give you an idea of how the day went. :)

I stopped adjusting due to the large amount of red in the photo even though the white stripe on the Pepsi can is still a little blue. It appears the photo is lit from two sources of light. More blue on the left and more red on the right.

So why did you send more blue photos? Grr...

Can you set the white balance on your camera from indoor?

Nice aim on the jug of water in the car.. Wow.

lol blame it on my phones poor camera...

Funny story about the shooting episode today - At one point I wasn't thinking and jammed the lead ball and wadding into the barrel before the "air". At that point I was like... hmm well that sucks, due to its muzzle loading design I cannot clear that out now, since there is no way to get the "air" to push it out.

A trip to the big box store and a 5/16" extended bit later I was able to drill out the lead ball and all its remnants. I was a bit scared for a second thinking my cannon was now defunct but I'm thankful that there was a very soft object stuck in there! If there had been a ball bearing I might not be shooting this little guy anymore!

A pressure washer with a proper adapter would have unseated a stuck ball bearing with no problems. It's amazing what a little hydraulics can do.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever move to ball bearings and make the same mistake!

I had to try to do better on tho other cannon photo. I like how it came out.

May I recommend picking up a copy of The Gimp? It's free and does a nice job fixing some of those terrible color camera shots.

Again, thanks for including a white reference in the photo.

I figured out why they have that color from my phone - I had the white balance option set to Incandescent by default - not on Auto like it should be for point and shooting.

Wow, that property looks exactly like your yard!

I see the shooter also shares a penchant for shooting beer as well.

Also, what's the deal with worrying about the white balance? Isn't that a little nit-picky?

That was taken down because "kewls" started commenting on it - arguing over what it was. Bad publicity for me if you catch my drift

I was really just shocked when I saw that! I emailed the video poster and he said that he had taken quite a bit of time to line up each shot and they all worked perfectly the 10 cans was very impressive and after the last one they called it a day to end on a high note lol.
