So pretty much the QD propels the knife forward, and the little discharge of air boosts it? Am I correct on that? If so, I think I know what I am gonna be spending $10 on!

Actually, wouldn't a "real" blade be pretty brittle for this application?
EDIT: PS, Crna Legija, how do you cut your o-ring grooves? I've been using a miter saw followed by needle files to cut mine, but it's a little hit and miss.

nope, if its hardened right it would flex, so it would giv you greater impact without breiking.
EDIT: when i get some gas to my gasforge i can do few blades from 5160 springsteel and show you what i mean

i put a peace of all thread in the pipe and tighten two nuts on ether side. then put in the drill press and used a round fill to make the cut.

Looking good! Curious to see your lever design.
i got some really crap epoxy took like 3hr to get hard enough to touch without wrecking it.
This is fairly normal, in general the longer epoxy takes to cure, the stronger the result. I usually allow 24 hours for my marine epoxy to cure, depending on ambient temperature.

Ok, I may be making my own when I finish off a screw in schrader project... (I am making a few, just to be on the safe side...) I will build a little chamber and stuff for this project though! This is going to be a very fun project.

crna, trust me. From internet tutorial, its very hard to make a blade that would survive this kind of beating. but its your knife, not mine

I will try! It is still curing, I am putting it through some heat to mold it a little bit better to make sure of no leaks, but yeah.
