And even though it counts as camo, an all black gillie suit makes an appearance every once and a while.

The idea is the make your body outline less visible, the human brain is attracted to "human like" shapes. The less "human like" your shape is, the more hidden you are.

Black camo gillie suit would be the best for night time. LOL

I haven't been out skirmishing in a while, but my load out previously was a TM AUG, an extra mid cap, and terrain appropriate hunting camouflage.

I've since added several more mags, an H-BAR barrel set, and some flecktarn camo.

After building the APG-2, I'm starting to rethink carrying around so much stuff (the heavy barrel puts the AUG at over ten pounds) and am building a short barrel set for the AUG. Gotta love the modular design...

Yeah, weight builds up after awhile... Unfortunatly its called gravity, but oh well.

I'm an avid player who goes to matches weekly and is part of a team. We play real airsoft where there are no clear guns, or guns shooting .12g bbs that are sold at walmart. By no means do I think crossman is or any other clear gun or plastic gearbox is legit airsoft.

Now on the other side, im not some ellitest prick who thinks you need top brand stuff either.

Yeah, I dont pump mine, I have a back pack air tank like Gun Freak. For our skirmishes its just a bunch of teens in a backyard with a bunker built up ontop of a hill. It gets boring after the first couple rounds, but then we change teams and stuff.

Lol, how long do you think you will be able to fire for? 5 secs max i recon.

Depends on the pressure I put in. Its about a 2 gallon tank, so it holds quite a bit of air.

Based on your previous statement, I'm not so sure I agree. Airsoft is airsoft no matter what type of equipment you can afford or are willing to spend the money on. I have much more respect for any player who can effectively compete using a clear plastic gun against other players with top of the line equipment, than a player who spends a small fortune on equipment but can't use it for beans. It should all come down to the skill of the player, not the equipment that they are using.

I do agree with you, what I meant is that a lot of people say they do airsoft and give airsoft a bad name.. example, a lot of paintballers think airsoft is just a bunch of little kids running around with walmart clear plastic guns. When in reality, real competition airsoft is supposed to look more towards actual military units. Airsoft is meant to be more towards MILSIM (not perfect by any means) and clear guns are no where close...

Now yes, skill is very important, and I have seen a team of ex marines that used clear plastic walmart guns rush and flank a team with full milsim loadouts with KWA m4's running on lipos... I am just talking about true airsoft (not backyard wars with civilian clothes and clear guns/springer pistols).

It should all come down to the skill of the player, not the equipment that they are using.

Gunfreak, I used crosman because it was readily available, inexpensive, and not too terribly underpowered for the price. I was less concerned with my equipment as I was with my skill in using it. I once ran a skirmish with nothing but my "cheap" little Crosman CO2 pistol and ended up winning.

Ya know, this really has kind of taken off quiet a bit.

David, where do you live? Sounds like airsoft is big in your area. I would love playing in a match with full milsim loadouts and stuff, but tactics and skill would be the best offense and defense.

I actually live in a town/area where airsoft is not very popular.
I live in Eau Claire Wisconsin. I have to travel ~2 hours for airsoft matches. typically the matches have 15-30 people. Other than that, I travel 4 hours down to madison area to play some of the larger 100+ player matches but thats only once or twice a year...

With my loadout you can tell that I am obviously recon.

I run in a 2 man group, sniper/spotter role. Otherwise I run in a 6 man team that typically plays more of a stealth role in sneaking behind enemy lines. I am not the typical airsoft sniper that uses a bolt action sniper rifle. My rifle is semi-automatic (m21) though since it uses a airsoft m14 as a base it still has full auto. It is upgraded to shoot long range so range superiority is still somewhat achievable. (though most of the time I do recon and when I do shoot someone, I wait till It is a gauranteed kill before taking that precise shot. - i dont want the enemy to know where I am)

I use my Tanaka M700 AICS which has about 1k in parts in it. (hits torso 8/10 at 290 feet). For a sidearm I have a KSC glock 18c with a rocket valves and a tightbore.

As for gear i wear a pantac MBSS with hydro carrier, multicam boonie, Multicam bdu's, 5.11 boots, and arena flakjak goggles.

I am uaually called on to take out high value players at longer ranges so I act as a Designated marksman(I'm not keen on the whole crawling around all day in a hot ghillie). Also when I don't use my M700 I just run my stock KWA sr-12 and about 8 midcaps.

Still a nice setup though, I know what you mean, that is why I went with the webtex concealment vest. The whole thing is mesh and very light.. its basically a mesh cloak with a bunch of elastic bands.. I attached some burlap but the bulk of it should be vegetation.. not hot like those heavy ass jute suits...
