just had a light bulb: For the scenario im building it for, it will need a tire valve for use with a bike pump. Im planning on running this thing all inline. So front to back would be barrel, sprinkler valve+blowgun, chamber. Could i put a QD for a compressor and a tire valve? or would that cause too many weak points and increase the possibility of this thing exploding?

it will be fine, many of people have done it before, just try and thread parts in double layers like where pipe and fittings meet.

Gidney, if you do it like that, add the female QD instead of the male, because all of the air will rush out of the male since there is no check valve.

Or use a ball valve with a male QD

Ill just go with the QD and tire valve in separate holes.

He means you need a ball valve before the male quick disconnect so you can disconcerting it without all the air rushing out, of your chamber.

You can get away with that, but you will be depriving it of power unless you get a large sprinkler valve, which can get expensive.

Im planning on using a 1 inch, and a 2.5in barrel. Is there a 1in-2.5in adapter/bushing?

I cant find a 2in valve that's modifiable anyhow.

Slight necro, but:

I would like to make this canon breech loading and I'm planning on using a design like This:
http://www.launchpotatoes.com/index.php ... oductId=40

I've got a couple of questions:
First, What would you sleeve it in?

Second, Ive come up with another idea,
and that is to use a clean out T fitting the breach. I just need to find one in 2.5in.

It's probably 3" sch 80 but you can check pipe diameters on the Pipe info page to check that.

Your right about that. But if i did do this would it preform worse, from leaks behind the ball?

If the pipe fits snug enough then it shouldn't be any harm.

Got my Sprinkler valve in the mail yesterday. Waiting on my 2.5in-1in adapter to begin building!

120 feet will be fine, probably safer for MilSim anyway.

I've run into a problem- Got my SV opened up this morning and it has a guide rod. From searching around a bit, could i possibly invert the rod (epoxy it to the bottom half), then mod as normal?
