Nice work! Thanks for the information about your trials with the two-stage fridge compressor setup, have been thinking of doing something similar for some time but, like POLAND_SPUD said, it's difficult finding cheap, large, high pressure vessels.

CO2 fire extinguishers are rated way past what fridge compressors can produce, that can be found in reasonably large sizes too.

Also be on the lookout for one of these:
The smaller tank is usually highly rated, I have a 3 litre one rated to 4500 psi from one of these things.

I've yet to find one for cheap yet, all the ones on auction sites are generally full are go for over $100. We have an old one on the side of our house, might just nick it and see if my dad notices
