It would be cool to have a part of the bolt open up a ballvalve slightly when it is in full forward position.
This is a very awkward but intruiging design.
There is no loss of performance, in fact it is probably as powerful as any bustdisc cannon.... but major loss of air after the projectile has left the barrel makes me think about why avoiding loss would be so important...
Seems this would work just as well and requires less accuracy on the ammo part:
( bolt should be 2 part with the head being able to extend through the hollow body of it.)

Sweet custom work!
You've inspired me to come up with a variation.

Looking really good, glad someone is actually doing this - especially someone with a love for high pressure
can't wait to see it in action.

My QDV is a modified version of this. The valve core is retained instead of shot out allowing for the use of much less expensive projectiles. Instead of launching the o-ringed projectile out the barrel, it is launched into the breech allowing the air to then eject a much lower cost projectile out the barrel.
This greatly reduces the cost of operation and permits shooting projectiles such as full cans of soda, marshmallows, spuds, candy, and eggs.
The design permits rapid resetting of the valve core and reloading for more time spent launching stuff.

@technician
I've sugested that your QDV design could be easily adapted for breech loading... just springload a piston an keep it in cocked position with a sear - as soon as the trigger is pressed it retacts

It's true that the QDV allows anything that fits in the barrel to be fired, but in theory this should give "burst disk" performance, and from what we've seen from Petitlu so far, I don't think he's interested in firing potatoesTechnician1002 wrote:Instead of launching the o-ringed projectile out the barrel, it is launched into the breech allowing the air to then eject a much lower cost projectile out the barrel.
edit: not PUI yet but it's Friday night, so soon

ohh jsr you seem to be PUI
petitlu isn't interested in firing potatoes but I agree that a system that allows you to fire just anything htat fits in the barrel is better than what he posted so far
