I have actually seen a design similar to this one, though instead it used a Co2 cartridge and a nerf football from a launcher. It didnt' work because all that pressure blew the foam apart. They didn't have any intertia problems from the launch triggering the round but it was a relatively low speed (less than 100ft range)

A guy I airsofted with built it, theres no videos i'm aware of, built I'll see if I can get a drawing for you
