Okay if i choose to use a sprinkler valve as opposed to a solenoid or otherwise. I would still prefer to have the safety of a disconnect from the trigger. With a modified sprinkler valve would a solenoid as opposed to a blowgun as the trigger defeat the purpose?

Or instead would a simple valve in the air line between the blowgun and the sprinkler valve serve the same purpose?

Cpt, if you use electrical actuation, it may have a slightly slower opening time, but you can in turn make the at4 more visually pleasing. This is for airsoft right? I don't think you really want to hurt people too much, so electric opening will probably be ok for you.

Most sprinkler valves are solenoid valves...

A ball valve between trigger blowgun and sprinkler pilot would indeed serve as a safety valve.
