Using an airsoft barrel was a good idea, I might have to give that a go at some point too.
Wasn't that long ago... lol
Airsoft barrel's aren't too expensive, here's where I got mine:

Very nice, I'm getting into a fair bit of airsoft myself, got a hammer valve in the works too.

Nice bolt, although I wonder why you did away with the rotation lock when you moved the "handle" towards the front?
But, incredibly detailed work as always.

Thanks! The reason is this: when the rotation lock system was on, nothing limited the plunger from coming all the way out. Plus, the whole thing was kind of unstable and fidgety even with my center spacer on the rod. And, I had that spring loaded bolt on the barrel just begging to be used, which I have been wanting to implement on my bolt action system for a while now. So, with that hooked up, loading is a straight shot backwards and the o-ring is kept from coming out the back by the limitations of the bolt movement. It's quite a joy to use

It's nothing exciting mate, just a 2240 style hammer valve set up for practical airsoft use and power, instead of the usual 600fps with pellets.
Also working on a clever little sampling system using a solenoid, but I'll stop hijacking and post something if it works.

Homemade valve is a given considering my new capabilities haha.
The other valve I'm designing is a mongrel breed of a QDV and blow forward bolt, the solenoid smacks it forward, air pressure opens it fully while also feeding a BB into a standard AEG hopup. Power is adjusted purely by air pressure. Barrel on both counts will be an ER-hop EDGI 6.03 509mm. Or maybe just a Prommy and I'll open it up for the hopup myself.
