sgort, it should be obvious. PVC grows weaker - and more importantly, it's youngs modulus decreases - rapidly with temperature.
Check out the temperature deratings for the stuff if you don't believe me.

This makes it easier to bend, allowing it to be... bent.

May I ask why you cant boil PVC?

I tried boiling and the only problem I had was that it came out rippled. I remedied the problem by bolting the pvc between 2 old table saw blades. I put the blade/pvc sandwich in the boiling water and adjusted the nut occasionally, until it was perfectly flat. Thank you all for your input. R. B.

Could you do this to make flat sheets of ABS? Cause I have some 3" cellular core abs and I may have a use for some flat sheets soon. Of course this would be for a non-pressure application.
