Propane injection..Bahh I much rather this all I use is some butane from a portable stove and a spray nozle off a spray deodorant can,works a charm and its cheap aswell.

Well its a little to hot to grow spuds here,and humid aswell they would surely die this time of the year.But I do shoot home grown limes not to mention they are round so they fly better.

It looks like you've got some un-rated parts in there. It's very nice for a basic spudgun, but those off-set bushings are a mark of unsafe parts.

Joking aside, I commend you. Most people (myself included) wouldn't actually have the courage to take the steps back to an old skool design(except if they were bored, and built a ghetto cannon from random crap they found)

But then again they do pose a bit of a danger sometimes they blow out but thats why its facing away from me,not towards me .

how did you join the barrell to the chamber? just cut a hole or screw?

It is an Australia DWV fitting and thats how it was produced so that if it was to be used in a situation were the pipe was running down a wall it would sit flush against the wall when it was increased to the 100mm size instead of sitting 50mm away fromt the wall.

I think everybody should give this a go.Get the good old cheap parts and make and 'old school' combustion gun.And yes that includes you sgort,Sir combustalot.

I still think any made out of pvc is modern, i retyped this to be able to get rid of the notify me when a reply is posted, i have to submit something.

Reminds me of one of my very firs combustors... I made it out of ABS, but sealed the back and front with tin cans and silicone sealer. It had a 12" piece of 1.5"dia. tube for fuel inlet, I would just cover it with my hand to fire after filling it. Eventually (after about 20 shots or so) the silicone started to tear and come apart a little more after each shot. I was losing velocity shot after shot and didn't know why until I noticed that I was kinda' burning the hair on my hand and arm (lol). I probably shot it another 10 times more before I realized what was happening. That is my old school story (and I'm stickin' with it ).

ok im new to this site and new to making these. ive been working on one its basically pvc pipe attachted to a thing of purrel but how should i ignite it? i thought i could drop a match but i dont think that would be the best thing. i would appareicate any suggestions

ive sorta done the same thing recently. today i started on a mini cannon, which may not seem to amazing, but i havent built a mini cannon in ~2.5 years, so ive got some nostalgia coming up!

Your still building a modern cannon, the true days of old is when you use 2 tennis ball cans, duct tape, zippo lighter fluid and a match. Any cannon made from pvc is modern.

LoL...I did this for my first gun I got a flame thrower instead. My dormate laughed for hours when my "Cannon" went up into flames...

Ahh reminded me of my first cannon. good for a bang didnt go far and ended up singeing my m8 eye brows off!! The good ole days!
