You could make a timer circuit using a 555 IC and by adjusting the resistance of one of the capacitors and the size of one of the capacitors you could change the delay. This timer could then be used to control a sprinkler valve's solenoid.
Or possibly a transistor and with the correct value resistor and capacitor you could make a circuit that would act like a timer. Haven't tried that though.

yea i could but addong a sprinkler valve would make this hyge and really annoying to throw, i had already thought of the 555 timer that was why i was asking about a electrial valve, still be annoying to throw. you know i should just make it remote activation

the term concept is just the basics, i personally never measure anything, i always do it by eye
