after studying your picture for 5 minutes i didnt get it. it would have helped if you labeled it lol

Looks like there's a notch cut out and then the trigger lever raises a bar that pushes the string up out of the notch.

I think it should be easy to understand.
The gray is the bolt, the red the trigger assembly, blue is pivot points, the yellow the string, and the brown the crossbow.

just use a rubber band gun type mechanisim (sp?)
