I had to use the wrench to loosen the barrel compression fitting when I loaded it for the first time that day.
It was tightened up more than usual because I had to travel with it in a rucksack along with a track pump on a bike to meet a friend of mine with a decent camera.
But in normal use you don't need any tools.
Petrie the QEV was under £10 and none of the joints were soldered, I used a special glue called JustForCopper which can make joins on solder fittings rated to 500psi.

wow very nice!!!! and clean!!! whts the psi? i must of missed it.
but it is great also becuase it is the best four letter word known to man,
FREE!! (for you, not the guy who payed for it lol)
you should pu it up to it's max psi witha Loooooooong barrel and see how acurate and we it does!! safely that is

It goes to 160psi because thats how far the pressure guage on the track pump goes but if I could I'd take it to 200.
The C:B ratio is a huge overkill at over 2.6:1 and I'd like to see what it could do with a 3m barrel (longest length the pipe comes in). Definitely need a bipod somewhere along it

If you want to try something longer for the barrel, 150 cm should be nicely managable.

is that glue common or did u need to go plumbing place because in australia there is much more limited product or atleast if u want to find somthing good u needa go specialist which is usoaly bit more pricey

In the UK it can be found in the copper plumbing section of all the large DIY stores I've been to.
I can't really say for Australia.

Yeah I get every thing from Bunnings except copper piping so i havnt really looked at the copper/brass section much, will have a look though...

I moulded it by hand from polymorph granules softened in hot water.
When its soft its like a rubbery putty, when its hard its like solid nylon.
It took about an hour and lots of boiling water but it was worth it

OMG... Very, very nice work. I probably would not have been able to do better myself. It means alot for me to be saying that (I'm a crabby designer\inventer type, working through a D.E.P. in machining). Great gun. I'm sure that you know that all of us would love to own one
