lol ive actualy had that happen when i tried to use a small potato bits as ammo and one got stuck in my pill bottle launching the barrel and the cap off with a loud bang

Yea, happens to me all the time.

You could try using matches. I did it today, it took three stuffed in the barrel to make a tight seal, and, unfortunately, they wouldn't light!

If you have a flam in front of the barrel as you fire, the match will light. I have tried it.

Its kind of weird, but i get the magnets out of those magnetic building sets. They leave a good sized dent in plywood, and stick to cans when you shoot at them (while leaving a sizable dent)
