Im still thinking of a way to incorporate a pistono n the mine, but i jsut thought of a simple solution to the "air is lighter than paint problem." Puting a small wooden dowl with an o-ring in the barrel before adding paint would allow all of the paint to be pushed out and not just some.

Tell me what you think.

What? How would that work? When I look at that, I just see the plug being shot out (very painfull for someone who stepped on it), and then all the air coming out behind it, still with no paint.
If I'm wrong, please explain.

I think that the paint is on top of the plug, which would hurt a lot as noname pointed out.

well yes LGM is right the paint will be above the plug and now that i think about it the plug should be made of a soft flexible foam(similar to those "noodle" water toy) that should work just fine

OK, but then you're also going to have to have a big "trigger pipe," or the paint will go somewhere, but there won't be enough paint to do anything except piss someone off because they got a little wet.

well yeah i guess you would have to have a long "trigger pipe" and just bury the thing deeper. for a basic mine field,a 5" tube should be enough paint. and again this is just a very simple and cheap mine to take out a few people who walk into the field.

It would be easier to make a ball valve one that shoots at an angle and is triggered by a trip wire.
