ever hear of a squiirel cage fan?it actully has noting to do with squirrels. they are the fans you find in an old furnace and old furnaces people are getting rid of arent hard to come by.

Yes I have seen that post, but I was just wondering if anyone had tried any other materials or processes. I just like to brainstorm.

These fans are used in most range hoods: the exhaust fan you would be using to vent the fumes if you used your stove. Unless you used an additional fan, this squirrel cage fan is insufficient to properly vent out the toxic fumes created by the smelting process. ...at least to the point where I would feel comfortable doing this indoors.
Really, the type of fan doesn't matter. That is why I mentioned cubic feet per minute (CFM): the unit which is used to compare the cababilities of a fan/motor combination.

BIG squirrel cage fans can be had pretty easy, you just gotta know where to look. I have one in my garage right that came out of a furnace. They work very well, and are nice and quiet.

To cast metal, try making sand molds. All you need is sand, oil, and a flask. A flask can be made from scrap wood, like old 1x6s. Google it and you'll find all kinds of stuff on it.

wow you soulh make lead projectiles buy filling pvc darts and stuff, alike for a 1/2" marble gun try filling 1/2"cpvc into lead tubes
