I wasn't aware the desert eagle was that powerful. That's in to the realm of some rifles...
It's just about equivalent to the 7.62mm round fired by the AK-47, however the latter offers better penetration due to bullet design and velocity. It's a powerful weapon, no doubt, but the power comes with massive recoil and limited shot capacity which means that in practical terms it's a much less effective combat pistol than say the HK SOCOMjoannaardway wrote:I wasn't aware the desert eagle was that powerful. I realise that my question sounds like a very noobish thing to say, and it is similar to the chicken/egg dilemma, with no real answer.joannaardway wrote:*Megadeth's "Angry Again" can be heard in the background*
There are more topics discussing this than ANYTHING else (including PVC vs. ABS). And there are probably more in the last month than I can count on one hand. Go away and read one of those - There is a search button for a reason.
This is not new.
Now, leave this alone, be sensible, use the search button and see if you can get people's opinions of you back out of about 5 digits in the negative.
And while you're at it, don't kick up any old threads.
It honestly is - I've seen this topic so much. Every single one of them from a new user who doesn't seem to realise that it's a common question.uberlad wrote:i realise that my question sounds like a very noobish thing to say and it is similar to the chicken/ egg dilemma, with no real answer.
It's a matter of opinion which anyone uses. But in my investigative study, i plan to have the opinions of primary sources, who know what they are talking about, word for word, on my specific question (this is why it will not do to take quotes from another thread).
You do realise you're talking to one of the spudding world's most experienced girls - don't you?i understand that you think that you are better than me and that using derogatory terms in an effort to belittle me will make will make you feel like a bigger man, but i hope you will soon realise that there is really no gain in making comments that question the intelligence of others, and that blowing out someone elses candle will not make yours shine brighter.
I apologize for my outburst, but I do not see how stating that 'This is a well known topic' and that I should have used the "search" button added any gain to the topic, I am aware that this is a very well known topic and some quoted opinions on it would have been favourable. I see that you may be a respected member of many forums, but does that take away from me being allowed here and asking a question?joannaardway wrote: It honestly is - I've seen this topic so much. Eventually, every now and again, one of those people will face the wrath of someone who's seen the topic too often recently. You just drew the short straw.
It's a matter of opinion which anyone uses.
Solid data doesn't really make any difference. All of us know the differences already, and we don't need to be told again.
If you want to prove it to yourself, go ahead, but 99% of us have our opinion, and we're not likely to change it.
I don't judge other's on their post count. I judge them on post content. So far, your posts haven't exactly shown that you are the greatest spudder to ever grace the forums.
In terms of post quality: You've used two capital letters so far between your 2 posts. You need to add at least twice that to your last post alone (most of them "I") to make it grammatically viable.
I'm not trying to "blow out your candle" as it were, but you need to realise a few things:
1) Odds are, we do know a lot more than you.
2) I'm a respected member of these forums, and many more.
3) I'm a moderator on a different set of forums. I know the "rules" of forum posting.
4) Neat posting gets you more respect. Your first posts really count. My first post on any spudding forums was almost a short novel in length, used proper grammar, and showed that I had actually done my research. Guess what - I got instant respect from the forum. Still needed to tread carefully to avoid annoying anyone, but it worked.
5) The search function is useful.
Take this from someone who has been described as "about as close to the perfect forum member as you can get" by one of the most experienced people out there.
Now, you can take my advice, and earn yourself some Kudos - or you can go off and sulk. Finally, you could try shouting at me, but you'll either realise I couldn't give a damn, or that other people are much worse to piss off.
Well apparently you’re doing a report on the 4bore…uberlad wrote:...You said that in your first posts you showed that you had done your research, the responses to this thread are my research...
As Judgement_arms said, there are other threads with identical names, even on the first page of the "General spudcannon related" forum.uberlad wrote:I apologize for my outburst, but I do not see how stating that 'This is a well known topic' and that I should have used the "search" button added any gain to the topic, I am aware that this is a very well known topic and some quoted opinions on it would have been favourable. Almost all the "People who don't have a clue" will create a topic like this, without any nod to the search function, or even 20 seconds of looking at the first page - they won't even see your topic/webpage/chosen method of displaying the data. N00bs don't look at old topics, so your "investigative" study will be of little gain.I have previously made up my mind on the subject, and i know that 99% of people out there have as well, and I am not attempting to change that, but an investigative study must be targeted at people who don't have a clue, and answer questions that seem basic, and obvious, and not worth answering to the experienced. I also apologize for my grammatical laziness, as I did not realise that people worried about it that much, and I will make more of an effort in future.
Well, hopefully by now, you've found the search button, and perhaps the Spud Wiki, and you've done research with both. You said that in your first posts you showed that you had done your research, the responses to this thread are my research.
It is a shame that my first post was such an annoying question, but all I needed was some opinions to throw in a study.
