Why did I say 90psi?
hmm not even close they burst at less than 50 psi.
And I used aluminum foil with good results.
My gun is leaking though the union and I don't know why?
With all of the things I used all leaked. My o ring is fine and their is a small deformation o the non- o-ring side. I think I'll sand it down.
The gun didn't fire at 3x and I was tired of messing with the bastard so I put it up and called it quits for the day.
I plan on going to Lowe's and getting some sheet metal that I can cut into several uniform circles this weekend.

I am really frustrated with this cannon because its a pain to use the union.

Where is it leaking out of the union? Try a bunch of teflon on both threaded sides (unless you got the socket-weld kind) and on the outside, where the ring screws on and off. If it leaks out the barrel, just use some sheet rubber burst discs. 1/16" rubber bursts ususally at 80-100 psi, and it's $2.00 per square foot, not too bad.

my union leaked on me also, i located the leak and it was here the ring(with the threads) connects to the flanged part. i just applied a liberal coating of silicone grease, and it no longer leaked. hope you understood that, kinda hard to explain.

hmm sheet rubber that would be perfect!
I only hope Lowe's has some.

try shower pan liner... I haven't tried it yet, but it may work alright. ...although it may be a tad thin

I should use some.
But I do wear safety glasses lol.
I don't plan on taking my gun to and risky mixes so there isn't much need for a remote setup. Plus that would require me to make a stand and a better ignition setup. Both of which cost money:(

Oh you certainly know that and i'm going to pass for a noob, but...you don't want to go past a 8x mix, it's the point of DDT, and sch80 PVC doesn't support it as well as a lot of other materials.

Very cool! Looks really good. And foil disks work really well.

umm... didnt someone have a sch80 hybrid blow up at 4x a while back?

3x actually, but he had fired a 4x before without incident. Noone ever conclusivley deduced the cause.


Regarding your union woes, get some polypropylene or aluminum camlock "cam-and-groove" fittings off mcmaster, or your local irrrigation supply warehouse. Banjo brand is the best. They say they are only rated to 150 PSI, but Jessespellman has used them in his hybrid now for a long time and has never had any problems with them at all.

I am considering grabbing some aluminum cam locks.
As for how will I adapt them to my cannon i don't know
