Probably $40-50US and alot of hard work and time involved, and then profit from the sale etc.

Thats the whole point of capatitlism, he makes something rather well that you want but would rather not spend time and effort to accomplish. So until you actually build one then he will always have a profitabel bussiness.

You release pressure from behind the piston, it slams back, and the air from the chamber escapes thrugh the barrel

you pressurize one side and then the other side gets pressurized by an equalization hole in the piston, this is just a one way valve that lets air into the chamber but not out.
trying to decide on a new project, probably something small.
