Get some wood nails (the softer kind) and hammer the heads on a hard flat surface to give you a fin of sorts. Loaf a bunch of them into a sabot and there you go, flechette round! :D

ERm, I wouldn't try that.......
flachette website that jack posted wrote:BORE SAFE CONSISTANT PERFORMANCE

Our patented flechette sabot delivers round to round consistency in range and performance you will not find in competing flechette ammuniton. Typical inferior loads use common granulated fillers, such as ground corn cob, to surround a cluster of flechettes in a common commercial shot wad and are closed with a paper disk. This loose filler cannot maintain critical alignments needed during firing and the disk closure is completely inefficent. This type of load has a very low performance level. Flechette ammunition using loose granulated fillers allow enough misalignment of the flechette cluster to permanently damage the shotgun bore with deeply scored grooves when fired.

-mini marshmallows(work best if stale so leave the bag open for a few days before launch)
-ice(put plastic wrap on the end of a piece of 1/2" pipe, fill w/ water, and freeze. when u take it out it should melt just enough to come out and then put it in your barrel)
-pen caps
-plastic wire nuts
