I was planning on making a high pressure airsoft "rifle" at some point also. I was going to use a 3 foot length of 9/32" brakeline as a barrel, and probably a 3/4" x 6" steel nipple as the chamber. If you don't want the barrel to bend at all, I just sleeve it into 5/16" brass brakeline, so it's double layered.

brass brakeline? would it be caried at autozone or napa? because there is two major auto parts stores near me (autozone and napa) but there is also a local one that i can walk to is this stuff special or would they have it?

edit:
and would they carry 9/32 brakeline?

what if i have to use 5/16 brakeline what can i sellve that with??

I don't usually go to autoparts stores for m brakeline, my local Ace hardware has a bunch of large tubes with a specific size of brakline in those. I think 5/16" would sleeve into 3/8," it should be 11/32" but I don't think they make that size.

to push a bb to around 400 fps you would only need about 4" of 1" diameter pipe at about 120 psi if you are using a QEV, if you use a vortex gun, it does not need to be fired in full auto, just short bursts. when you play airsoft, a regular spring sniper is at an enormous disadvantage, because they need to cock between esch shot. think about how much you will be if you load 1 bb at a time and then use a pump. make a strafer, you wont regret it

aaah, well then, i like the idea for plinking. if it turns out that you can use a smaller air supply, then it will be as simple as going to the store and getting a smaller length of metal pipe, no cementing

House the whole gun in steel if you don't like PVC 1/2in would work fine. I'm biulding my BBMG out of steel pipe. The protective shrouds don't need to touch the barrel just protect it.

And for questions like how big is such and such in mm IT TAKES A 2 SECOND GOOGLE SEARCH!!! We don't have to do all your work for you, look through finished cannons and find out what other people have been using. AFTER you FINISH looking THEN ask questions if there is something you still want to know.

since you are using metal parts, if there is anything about your gun that you dont like, you can jsut buy a new piece and screw it on, unlike pvc where it would be all solavent welded

if i were you, i would get some 3/4 inch PVC and wrap some duct tape around the inner barrel and slide the 3/4 inch over it (thats what i do) but you want metal............

if i were you, id get 3 feet of 1/4 inch Galvanized Steel Piping. it fits perfectly around real airsoft barrels............... i dont know if ur using a real airsoft barrel or brakeline but a little duct tape will solve the fit problems

if you have 3 feet of airsoft barrel it contains about 26 cubic inches of air, and 10 inches of 1 inch pipe is aobut 31 cubic inches, so i guess that chamber size seems perfect. just a little out of proportion in the picture........

also, if you want accuracy, get a stock. i reccomend searching airsoft fourums for broken airsoft sniper rifles. not only will you get a nice stock, you will also get a REALLY LONG tightbore barrel and an adjustable hop-up system. for airsoft sniping, a good hop-up= your friend.

thanks vh man but i changed my chamber size...now it is 1 1/4"x6" and my barrel is 5/16 brakeline that is 30 inches long..

Merged:

oh and guys what do you use as ammo stoppers for such small barrels? u cant drill into them so how do you do it??

Use a small rubber o-ring before your barrel. It should be just the right size to allow the bb to pass through, but big enough so that the bb get stuck when it isn“t under pressure.
