Yes I know what a diaphragm is - I have a 1 1/2" diaphragm valve sitting here in front of me on my desk which is about to be modified for pneumatic actuation.

Sorry misread that - Never heard of taper diaphragms only threads (BSP and BSPT for example) - now you know why I didn't understand why tapered threads made it more powerful.... :D

I was rephrasing the question hence the "maybe I should have phrased it" before hand!!

That's why I said pumped :D though it seems SpudThing had a problem with it....

I know about them - but must admit I've always considered the pilot volume separate from the reservoir was the normal and forgot that solenoids are different to the ones I've been looking at.

It's 11 here (UK) and I was up early I'm allowed to be incoherent :D

Nope I've been to busy replying to you and SpudThing and fighting my corner lol

You post the pics and I'll give you a wow :D

No it isn't, it's just an exaggerated example - that's why over here (as I'm sure your aware) we use QEVs as opposed to BVs.

Exactly my point lol

I think this is what he means by tapered diaphragm.

Nah it's a plastic hand one with a dial you turn on top with a threaded rod down the centre that opens/closes it. Take out the rod though and you can easily mod it.

Must say after running diaphragms though GGDT though I'm keen to make it a pilot for a 75mm piston (piston in a 75mm T that is)

Nice shotgun - looks small compared to all the PVC ones though :D

Ah - lip (hydraulic) seals work in a very similar way so that when the pressure is increased you increase the 'sealing force' of it.....

very nice as usual, I know what a difference high pressure makes and at this calibre, the damage (and the noise!) is really going to be something else, looking forward to some decent videos :D

Also, perhaps a few quality emblems strategically placed would help to enhance that "Soviet" feel ;)

Whoah, BTB. I thought you moved and didn't have internet? I must have missed something.

Now that I'm through the shock of these forums being graced with your presence, that cannon is one BAD MOTHERF*CKER! When you shoot it, don't aim towards the US. You might break something!

I like how the piston is inside the tee. I lack mental and physical capacity to make a good working piston outside of a tee. I have to see damage.

I have moved and am currently on dial-up...very slow...
thanks for the emblem idea, but I was thinking about using those army style spray on letters.
I wanted to put OVERKILL 47 mm APC on the side of the barrel. In yellow.
APC being Anti Personnel Cannon hehehe.
I used to have an ammunition box with lettering like that for 40mm shells.

Video is out of the question. don't have e decent camera and the dial-up
doesn't help.

Brian... nice cannon!

It's great to see such a larger cannon in metal. The aluminum barrel tops it off, but I'm still confused on how you attached it? I don't think they sell compression nuts that big. 8)

Anyways, down to business. You MUST fill the barrel with water and shoot it at 7 bar or so. :P Come on! I weight only 130 and did it with my cannon! Although, it did hurt quite excruciatingly because the leg I braced it on was bent sort of further than I wanted it to go...

Anyways, toodles! Keep the quality works coming!

"When all else fails resort to brute force and akwardness. If it don't fit force it." ~Chewy (RIP Bill)

You took his advice, no?

About the hand cannon.....I WANT IT!! Or I want something else ridiculously strong, so I can destroy anything...Muahahahaha
