do you know how much a metal 4" cannon would weigh??

i am not going to build a smaller cannon..well i am but i already put 50 dollars into this cannon! im going to finish it..

i do not just want to lift it.. i want it to be easily portable and below 10 pounds... a 4 inch peice of metal 4 feet long alone is going to weigh 20 pounds!

That guy at the hardware store has no idea what he is talking about. "Yep, these 4" DWV fittings right here can easily hold 400 psi..." Definately!!!
You're gonna have to do some shopping to find pressure rated 4" fittings. I'm pretty sure Ace Hardware sells pressure rated fittings of that size, n e way, I know Home Depot selly rated 4" pipe in 2 foot sections, but I'm not sure about 5 or 10 foot sections... Good luck finding everything you need! I can't wait to see this puppy whaen it's done!

yea..i checked ace.. they do not have tees, or female/male adapters, or elbows, or 4x2 reducers....the only pressure rated thing they have is the cap..

it says half done..ill have to change that heh.. umm.. well i have my bumper done, and my sealing face, and umm...some other things...hehe i have my pilot valve, my barrels, my fill/psi guage.. i have all of the pipe of rthe chamber and the piston. i have the piston...all i need is 4 inch things...

i do believe that 400 psi is BS
my 3" Sch 80 Pressure rated PVC pipe is only rated to 370 psi

Most mid-size pipes that say dwv are pressure rated. I have some 3'' pipe that has dwv and pw on it. I've used it a lot and it works fine.

no u guys stop mixing up fittings with pipe..i know most dwv pipe is rated i need to know if the fittings are..not pipe!

If you can, try to measure the volume of pw and unrated dwv pipe via water displacement and compare the weight to get density figures.
Cellcore should be lighter due to the fact that it's foam.
Of couse, you would probably attract attention by carrying a bucket of water and a scale into the hardware store. Unless you live in new york.

OR

You could just buy a fitting, fill it up to 400psi, then take it back and yell at the guy after it explodes.

A four foot chamber isn't that portable, even if its PVC. Kind of unwieldly if you ask me, even if its an over under type cannon.

umm no..i do not want a 1 foot chamber.. i have 3 ten foot barrels already and the whole gun planned out.. i want a big gun.. dont post in my threads anymore because u think ur all mighty and tough but your a dickhead who is a big idiot with like 2 guns!

a 4 foot chamber is definately portable...

you get around with your four foot stomache

Spudthug, here is my suggestion:

I would hold off on the fittings. Purchase them from McMaster, which will tell you all the stats about what you are buying. I would rather wait a few days than feel uncertain about the pipe I just bought. I've bought numerous times from Mcmaster, and beleive me, its not as hard to navigate the site as it might seem.

If a fitting says DWV on it, I steer clear. No matter if some guy tells me it can hold X amount of pressure.
