What if you pressurize the pvc? They do it for bike makers and car makers to see whether they have joints that have shoddy joints. 200psi would make some pvc tubing pretty strong.

Wouldn't the stress be magnified that way? I don't pretend to know about this sort of thing, but it'd make sense to me.
