Ya I might set one up if the BBQ doesn't work.

Hey Frank, here's a link to a site on how to build an inductor coil. Apparently the sparks from them can be up to two inches long, and that's with their resistors and stuff on there. You could build this thing wihtout that hammer setup and just get one spark at a time also, to make it easier. I imagine without the resistors, you could get several inches worth of sparks.

right on then frank get your groove on. paaiyan 2 inch spark spounds like a pretty awesome thing to have

There are so many electrical things I want to have an am planning to build. Van de Graff generator, Jacob's ladder, Tesla coil. I bet a Tesla coil would make a good ignitor Frank, lawl.

That would be awesome, but I don't have the time or resources to do something as interesting like that.
I think I may just have to get a stun gun in the future.

I wanna build one and see if I can convince someone to stick their finger in it, bwahahahaha! But really, I'm gonna build one and work it into my next combustion, whenever that is.
You know, this thing could end the whole spark placement argument. Spark at the front or back? Psh, forget that crap, I have one that jumps the entire length of the chamber, that solves that.

Thanks SB15
Paaiyan, actaully that would be interesting, you would have to make sure the walls are non-conductive.

It's PVC, how conductive can it be? kI suppose you could line the inside of the chamber with some sort of non-conductive, heat-resistant material anyway. You couldn't have a chamber fan though, I can't imagine that ending well.

oh lol, I was thinking about steel.ha

Oh yea, difinitely insulate that. Really wouldn't want to be holding a steel cannon when that spark hit, lol. Man that would suck. First the electrical shock knocks you on your butt, then the cannon firing knocks you out, ouch!
It might be a good idea to sleeve the PVC too, maybe with something non-conductive between. Just in case...

It would be pretty funny to see though.

Yes, yes it would be quite entertaining. It's fun to watch people get tazered. So I'm just picturing someone taking a tazer, then gettign kicked in the shoulder.

yeah...don't make a big combustion but build a hybrid..i love your way of thinking..seriously.

Ha ya I thought it was quite clever.
But I think that I might have to construct some type of muffler, I imagine that this will be loud.
