Entertainment and money.

My main beef with American sports (NBA, MLB, NFL...), they're too 'flashy', too much about entertainment value and making money. I guess $19 million dollar sport contracts have to come from somewhere.

Perhaps it's because I've grown up watching cricket, where a professional player has a very modest salary (average salary is probably around $80-100,000USD) and that's assuming you get a salary, some players will only get paid per match. And if you don't make the national side you would struggle to support a family by playing in domestic teams. Though, even some forms of cricket are not immune to the flaws which I see in the NBA, MLB and NFL.

To me Test cricket matches are the pinnacle of sport. If you're not a fan, it would be like watching paint dry for 6 hours a day for 5 days straight.

Okay, yeah European football is quite similar but I still don't think it's as bad as NFL or NBA. The commentators don't have as annoying voices either

But even while playing sports, I never could stand to just sit and watch.
