Agreed 100%, even when well finished Brian's guns tend to have a brutish crude edge to them which makes them uniquely attractive.

It is indeed a quality I seek in my designs.
For real I mean.
It is even the reason I have sometimes made the barrel half a centimeter shorter than the reservoir in my sawn-offs.
It looks MORE " brutesque"

I wish I had the capabilities that guy has, but I would also keep my own view on things...that's all.


Due to a cashflow problem the new barrel ( and it's ammo) will have to wait....

I'll focus on other improvements for now...
Once the money comes in I have enough ideas on the shelf to keep me occupied throughout the next year.
At least 3 guns, maybe 5.

Hmm...it needs more work to clearly show it's a dragon but for the tiny size of it I think it's nice:

( some parts of the tail did not hold the paint as the engraving is too shallow...)

I considered it...but decided not to even try.
By your comment I assume you're not impressed hahaha.

In an hour or so I'll get an electric engraver at work so I can clean things up.
I'm much better with that thing but on it's own it's not enough to really dig in.

Nope..I used a different method of scaling the picture down.All my pictures are too large for the forum too handle ( like myself ) so I used to schrink'em using paint.
Now I just cut a larger picture down to a small section of it.This left me much more detail.

No offense but it looks more like some scratches from wear that coincidentally happen to vaguely resemble a dragon, rather than a deliberate design...

After seeing the thing in detail on this picture I actually agree..
I was really happy I was able to cut into the metal at first..but the result is not what I expected...Oh well...It's a first try and not very big..

Last night I found a website of someone who had done some engraving on his own homemade ( pretty high quality) PCP and thought:" I can do so much better" and decided to try.

Turns out I'll need that electric engraver to even get it close to what he did....

Granted, it's dangerous and produces unpleasant fumes, ideally you'll be doing it outside.

For what I did though I wasn't exactly dipping large parts in baths of the stuff, it was more mask off the area you don't want engraved and apply a few drops, for each engraving in the ballistic knife I literally didn't use more than 2mL or so of nitric acid per part.

I will be looking into the etching thing later.
I tried with the electric engraver today but the etching results I've seen on your knife are far superior..So I won't be doing any more this way..

Aside from the attempted art I fixed a few things I felt needed fixing.
I wanted to increase hammerspring strength and I wanted it to be adjustable so I could take out all unneccesary slack and up the power a bit.
Worked out fine as you'll see.
I backed up the existing hammerspring with an extra adjustable one.


Shots are deeper and fewer now.
45 pumps gave me 4 shots and some left over puff.
I still think it would be better in smaller caliber though.

I'm also concidering replacing the mag.It's too big and ugly.Let's just call it a prototype till I figure it out...

I also got a stuck ballbearing out and re-sanded the inside of the barrel smooth.It got jammed because of some damage I probably did by sticking a length of treaded rod into it.
This was needed to stop the bolt from rotating in order to change the nut on the bolt ( now a brass ball).

Not important anyway as I will replace the entire barrel....soon hopefully...
