Still shallow, although better after much more refreshing the acid...

Grinding it flat took off the other design.

Okay..I made and installed the precision hydraulic tube as a barrel and decided to scrap the old ugly magazine.
I want to be able to fire slugs from this thing as well as roundballs.
Caliber is now 10 mm.

I still need to make the swing-pushy thingy that actaully pushes the ammo out of the mag and into the breech.

Don't know how to call this part... a loading arm????
It will be made of brass and activated by the action.It will rotate on the bolt you see sticking out the top right now.
It will be cut down a bit.
The loading arm will also cover up those welds.
The trial version worked well.

The magazine is springloaded and works very well.
Due to the all metal construction and lathed parts combined with the presision tube I expect it to last a lifetime.

I also made a nicer muzzlepiece to hold the new barrel in place.
This also obscures the pump internals from the front.

When the bolt is pushed back by the leveraction it pulls on the loading arm popping a pellet in the breech.

I will replace the wire version for something that looks a lot better and the motion of the arm itself will become smaller with the help of an elongated hole into wich the connector slides.

A spring will then keep it in position just allowing the pellets to pop ou the mag but I will be able to push the arm outward like it is now in order to load the projectiles.

Oh well...it's a start..

I had to make SO many changes!
The bolt has more travel now because the new steel bolt and barrel combo placed the ammo right on top of the airinlet.
As I shot it the ammo stayed put..
Now that problem is fixed.

I had to cut down the back of the barrel so the bolt could travel further..cut off some other stuff...
Pfff

Chambering a lead slug put a lot strain on the bolt construction so I triangulated the structure....now the coverplate doesn't fit so I'll be removing some of the added steel later.
It doesn't need to be such a bulky brace anyway, as the triangle makes it strong.

Pff... a bad weld in the hammer...top went flying off...I'll have to redo that.No biggy...my welding is improving anyway.
I loaded a steel slug and shot it nevertheless.

I think I can call this project pretty much finished.

Everything has been sorted out...I know I need to extend the bolt on the feedarm to prevent jams but then the entire structure is done..
The coverplate has been adjusted, the brace on the boltstructure has been reshaped..painted the pumplever.

When I have some time I'll take out the failed fixes on the wood and use proper woodfiller that is the right colour ( got the stuff).

I made a little brace to connect the end of the mag to the barrel.
Not for strength...just to finish it off.

10mm roundballs will be ordered tomorrow...expect them in the new year.

I got what I wanted out of the project.I made I total custom selfcontained powerful bigbore sawed-off with a unique valve and function.
It has about 50 individual parts, 5 customised springs and I left out some screws, washers , pins etc.

Shooting vid will eventually be made.
All I need is daylight time, a target and some ammo.

That looks really nice Brian! A true work of art! All I can think of to improve is a brass endcap on the grip but it doesn't really need it. Well done
