Wow, I might have to moderate this thread again for the 2nd time in like 70 pages!

I think I'll get MrCrowley to yell at you guys this time if needed...He doesn't yell much but is usually embarrassing to the parties involved when he does. I'd settle down with the flaming.

paaiyan wrote:A fault in the frame wouldn't cause the gun to "explode" (which I still want pictures of by the way). The fault, if there is one, is likely in the chamber of the gun, or perhaps with the firing mechanism allowing the gun to fire while out of battery, thus not supporting the brass walls of the bullet casing while firing.

Were there a problem with the frame, one could conceivably expect the gun to fire correctly, up until such time as the slide decided to remove itself from said frame, and implant itself instead into your face.
Can't get pics its on it's way to the factory

The chamber was at fault my bad
it was the ammo wasnt plus p but the dealer said the rounds were what caused pressures were to high but I'm glad my eye is ok and the gun is getting fixed!!

So what kind of non +p ammo were you shooting? Every major ammo brand I can think of conforms strictly to SAAMI standards and wouldn't have caused that.

Federals

But I've shot feds b4 no problems I don't why

It seems every injury I've had is the right side of my face first a golf ball at 100-120 psi and next tiny piece of skrap metal hit my bottom eye lid

It under my glasses but I'm glad thr dealer covered it

How many rounds have been fired since you got it and up until the failure?

You are saying Federals now but previously you stated Winchester.

What gives here, you have me totally confused.

Was it Winchester or Federal? Not that is makes a difference but I sense BS.

Jsefcik, I won't judge you, but did you file down the tips of the bullets at any point? Or modify them in any way whatsoever?

I did you the favor of fixing your grammar and spelling. Hopefully this will help you look like less of an idiot when calling someone an idiot.

I'm only trying to say that if you're going to insult someone else's intelligence it would behoove you to at least appear to have a greater intellect than them.

Your gun: did you buy it brand-new or used? If it was brand-new, did it come with a bullet casing from the test fire that most manufacturers do?

I care, because attempting to read your cryptic posts is more difficult than translating Morse Code.

As for your new gun barrel exploding.....It sounds to me like you inadvertently fired a "Squib Load" followed by a fully charged round. Could this be the case?

Also a possibility, Velocity. The lack of recoil and likely failure to cycle should have been an indicator to anyone sufficiently experienced in firearms though.

paaiyan,
The key words being..... "sufficiently experienced". However, if a shooter is firing rapid fire style, he may not realize the "squib" problem before firing another round.
