I'd figure I'd have another go at the 230 gram steel rod and see if I could avoid tensing this time.
However, I upped the ante to a full 25 bar and filmed it at 240 frames/sec. (Although, for sanity, most is played back at normal speed, with a naff sound effect to swap between the two).

Kind of a shame I was partially out of shot, but it sort of works anyway.

I'll probably try the same projectile (or possibly a slightly modified version) with the 40 bar Timberwolf once I've got that done, although I suspect for that I'll need to swap to a sight with rather more eye relief!

Yep, good thing you were wearing eye protection.

As close as it may have got, I didn't actually get hit by the scope.

Still, finding a cheap red-dot might be the smart move for most of my launching. The 3-9x is probably only necessary if I really start to engage that long range accuracy project again.

ITWOST converted my crossman 2240 to shoot .40 darts. Its a rough prototype, and currently muzzle loading, but it works for now

I've thought of buying one of the $80 crosman 2240s off of amazon and change it up a little bit. I like it!

I think they're usually about 60$ new, but its a great deal either way!

Thanks for the compliment on the grips, I made them myself with polymer clay and tried to give a faux wood grain look to them.

I like em'. They look really rustic, instead of the usual high tech or super shiney. 8)

Oh well. Ive seen them on there for 80 bucks. Guess I should keep on searching! I don't get why they're so cheap. You can add or mod to it. Ive seen valve modifications and co2 mods and rifle stocked and magazine mods. Now only if they reached 1000 fps...

Im assuming that you're getting really good results with the barrel mods for the darts?

Can add a Hipac unit and run a 2240/2250/2260 (Even one for the QB78 now) as a pcp on 3000psi...performance can be significantly greater than on co2 .

No real advantage to going much beyond 900fps though. Doing so would see you gaining a little extra energy, but at the expense of accuracy...not a good trade off when greater than stock velocity is usually desired for extending effective range...where accuracy becomes even more important.

Ohh I gotcha. What about a 9mm pellet rifle made with one of these with the 3000 psi HPA set up?

That'd be something to take a year on fine tuning, buying, and molding.
