hey, today I've learned a little somthing about some toy nerf guns, the not that un-popular Nerf hornet and the less popular but wonderfully exploitable big salvo basically are mini qevs and chambers, and they're small and light, if you can attach some schraders to the back of some hornet barrels and put in smaller barrels, price wise a hornet has 6 barrels and costs $20 thats not that bad, if anything they should be easily exploited for other pneumatics

The most promising prototype I could remember was from jackssmirkingrevenge, but that was 2 years ago.

I remember that cartridge test, that was done back in 2006 when I was just a starry-eyed freshman with dreams of shoulder-held autocannons for paintball wars.

Takes me back, man. =)

Having a play with a valveless preloaded cartridge, stuck a schrader in the back and waiting for it to cure.

Buy a QEV and a 3 way valve and you have semi auto i will be posting my semi auto gun tomorrow with a vid so take a look when you have the time

Is that a triggered cartridge? also what's stopping air leaking passed the pellet.

Yep, push the collar back and bang! That's the theory at least.

Pressure inflates soft lead skirt and seals, like it had done here.

ahhh that makes it much simpler

Here's the first tentative test at 50 psi. The issue here is that ideally, you should load the pellet head first and the skirt gets swaged down for a good seal, in this case loded skirt first it doesn't really work so I had to add a rubber disk to make it seal. This unfortunately added a bit of friction so it didn't fire immediately, in fact you can see me pulling away thinking it wasn't going to fire before the pellet pops out.

Here it is at 100 psi, looks promising enough to make a "proper" prototype and take it to higher pressures, maybe with moar balls for support, and perhaps some silicon tubing to improve sealing...

Wait, so if you pull back on it, how are you going to make a gun that will actually use them? Some sort of pneumatic piston that pushes them forward or something?
