I made a simple pressure chamber to test various sealants at high pressure and something I've noticed is after some time at around 1000psi some of the rubbery sealant adhesives such as silicone get tons of tiny bubbles in them, are these bubbles the result of rapid depressurization of dissolved air in the sealant?

In other words, did I give the sealant The Bends?

I think you just left it high and dry, did you get the material from some fake plastic trees?

:D

Interesting observations, the question is whether this air was already in the sealant or if it was forced in by the pressure.

No cheapo stuff here, E600 adhesive, and car engine gasket makers. Both come out as a thick liquid and dry to a hard rubber like cosistency.

My theory is that the air may have dissolved into the rubber under intense pressure, similar to how co2 gas is dissolved into a coke to make it fizzy, then when the pressure is released the dissolved gas expands into bubbles. I'm a little iffy on my physics but I think this is how a gas under pressure works.

Time to admit that I've harvested enough Crosman donors for all the projects I have in mind and I ought to get started on one of them :roll:

I like the Crosman style grip, very convenient and I have used it before on the "Caselboy".

There are several pneumatic projects I have on my list for which this collection is intended to provide parts, along with an assortment of rifled barrels and other parts and materials I've acquired over the years:

- 0.375" steel ball semi-automatic pistol PCP with smoothbore barrel

- 0.75" bolt action slug pistol PCP with smoothbore barrel

- 0.375" steel ball machine pistol PCP in the style of the TEC-9

- 0.50" bolt action pistol PCP with rifled barrel

- 0.303" bolt action rifle PCP with rifled barrel

- 0.45" semi-automatic rifle PCP with rifled barrel

- 0.30" pump-up pistol with rifled barrel

Brilliant! I think I'm going to make a list like yours, because I don't have ... I only have an "existentialist" look at Jean P. Sartre, of my projects, a question that lacks "poetry", and this is bad because it resembles to the myth of Sisyphus. Maybe a full car hybrid ... too tall for me? perhaps... 8-)
