You must have a parameter wrong somewhere.
A high price means that people won't just buy it as a toy, but have to be really interested in the subject. (OR they are planning to do harm with it and need it for bad purposes)
All fair points, perhaps I need an agent who will find me the right clients :D

It really is very simple, and if you have a look at my second variant the piston is a simple chunk of thick rubber making it even easier to build.

If you still don't get how to make it then you probably shouldn't be playing around with compressed air to begin with ;)

If you're having trouble understanding the function of it, read this.

It's just a co-axial piston valve on a very small scale. The schrader valve allows pressurization and triggering.

I know it's a long thread but if you bother reading through it I'm sure most of your questions will be answered.

for all the guys asking about an air source (myself included) couldn't we just use a CO2 tank?? like one of the awesome gadgets that my bike store has is a CO2 tire re-filler and its basically a threaded refillable CO2 tank that you put on this special valve that is included.
if anyone has some insight on that it would be much appreciated!!!

Actually for a well built pen gun, it's not as dangerous as it sounds.

I tried filling this one using my ultraflate and it didn't explode, I got at least 50 good refills from one 12 gram CO2 capsule then stopped counting.

If you're filling a tyre, it's a relatively large volume so you don't really notice the high pressure that the source, but pen gun chambers are tiny in comparison so they get the full pressure the inflator is putting out.

Actually, if your pen gun is well built, it's perfectly safe. I do however agree, as my idol Lady Gaga sings, "if it's not rough, it isn't fun."

Sorry, Winamp just decided to play Cartman's rendition of Poker Face  :D

Edit: I really can't put how it works any clearer:
