That's some crazy alien technology there!

I saw a video with those a while back and they picked up blocks and built a huge structure out of them... and there was a whole bunch of them working on it at the same time.

Wow, I would love to own 4 or 5 of them and equip them with 1mm bbmg's. That may be fun.

Hahaha then add a camera and tracking system... that would be so sick :D

Make them dogfight each other, and add a radio control type of thing and it would be a real life video game.

So guys, I've just found out that machining runs in my blood :) my grandpa used to be a machinist for Winchester Repeating Arms in New Haven, Conneticut :)

you don't really need much of a turret on a platform like this.. it can rotate so all you need is a mechanism for adjusting elevation of the gun

for traverse (or whatever you call it) you rotate the whole quadrocopter

My thoughts exactly! It would be a miniature flying Stridsvagn 103 :D you don't even need to adjust elevation separately, four rotors means you can adust attitude too.

I reckon you could make a HPA BBMG weight around 1.5kg (Carbon fibre tank, barrel etc.), make that 2kg with camera etc. - that's a bit more than something like this can carry: http://www.aeryon.com/products/avs/specs.html - but you can always make it bigger :) or what the hell, these things are modular anyway - join four of them together!

Unless of course you make it actually miniature 1mm calibre and are willing to give your enemiesthe death of a thousand pin pricks :D

not *that* expensive... hmmm...
you should focus on perfecting the autonomous turret... as these things (quadrocopters) become more and more popular there will be demand for things that can shoot them down :-D

hahahahaha!

:D

I revisited this thread recently, hmmm...

I'm guessing the above would act like a reciprocating pop-off that could give one shot per "pop" if correctly tuned...

To be honest it'sthe autopilot system that's expensive, cue POLARUDINO_SPUD giving a link to something cheaper ;)
