Consider the fact though, that at the elevated tension of the nation towards school shootings after the V. Tech tragedy could lead the situation to be dramatized. I'm not saying he's crazy, and I'm not saying he's not, but what you have to realize is that you're not getting the kid's side of the story. Just consider there may be something other than what the media gives you.

Like I said, it is not a matter of whether or not he is innocent or guilty. The Police who conducted the search possibly stopped a terrible thing. That is what is important.

As far as him doing something or not, the Police need to have some sort of reason (called probable cause) to ask for a search. Well, maybe not, but if they would have been denied, I'm sure they would have obtained a search warrant which, at the very least, needs probable cause for any judge to sign.

Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this was a way of a higher power (not trying to start a religious debate) to reach out to the child and get him help.

Edit: I was typing while HaiThar posted so I missed his post. As far as getting the child's side of the story, that is something we may never get to hear. He may say something that makes sense, which will lead the media to look bad.

That's not as bad as you think it is - aren't you comfortable knowing that not just anyone can walk into a gun shop and but a weapon?

Ok it sucks if you're too young to get a license but that's what spudguns are for ;)

Nah she sucks at her job, but at least BB guns are legal here and same with paintballs and rifle scopes :P She made us have bad relations with the US because we wouldn't send troops to Iraq apart from Aid troops and SAS.

Honestly I don't think any bans on fully auto air soft guns will take effect in America anytime soon.

JSR - Haaha yeah there have been some strange photos of her out there, by strange I mean, not so man looking :D

Just from reading the excellent book "RAzor's Edge" (about the Falklands). Robert Muldoon is my favourite Prime Minister of any country outside the UK.
Go HIM!

Just a question that is somewhat related....somewhat.

Why are we so obsessed with saving each and every single life even though in the case of an epedemic that same mindset will probably kill us all?

I'd say, give him the benefit of the doubt, and let him go.
In the case that he does go on a killing spree, just lock him up for 30 years and then execute him.

(It might be best to not take this entirely serious...)

Human feelings will be the downfall and rise of us all.
