I think everyone nicks a couple of things for their cannons, but they usually do it "honestly" yoinking stuff from skips and such - I do it occasionally , but I have done it increasingly less often as the parts I need become increasingly more specialised and rare.

However, depending on whether the OP is telling the truth or not:

Truth: Next time, don't leave your account signed in when such people are around. I tend to lock my laptop if I'm away, even if there is no chance of anyone getting to it.

Lie: Suggesting you steal anything is just wrong. Taking stuff from skips and stuff is one thing - one man's trash is another man's treasure, right?
But other than that...

*assumes evil squinty expression and glares sideways*
...I really need some glasses to frown over in situations like this.

EDIT: I apologise entirely, it appears my computer has been infected with a sentient virus which suggested I may be evil.
I wish to clean this up, I am definitely evil, there is no may about it.

I am also investigating the OP's claim - there are ways to tell if it was the same person.

You stepped out for a bit more than 15 minutes and why would your roommate post such boring things?
If he wanted to be a jerk on your account shouldn't he have done something that makes sense.
Such as spam pictures of things, no one, wants to see?

Well, it's difficult to say, as the source text is very short, but my quick analysis of the word patterns and writing style between the OP's posts in this topic and the offending topic shows some key points, and I have to say it looks like there is a good chance the offending topic WAS written by someone else.

The frequency of common terms and keywords is completely skewed between the two samples, and the syllable and word length counts are also different enough, that even with the short sample, there's a very good chance, at least better than even that it was done by "the roommate".

There are some similarities, but these are mostly common writing traits that many people exhibit, and are therefore relatively insignificant in the face of the more significant keywords and letter frequency. I'll conduct a deeper analysis of it later, but for now, I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

While I am not defending him, it seems as if you ladies have kinda blown this way out of proportion. So he stole parts, label him a thief on this site and continue on. Unless you want to go to wherever the hell he and his "roommate" live and testify that he said he stole then I suggest you give it up. Who knows maybe he stole some lousy parts and the cannon will blow up and when being investigated it shall be found to be made out of stolen parts by the police. Who knows? But no one here is going to make him feel sorry for his actions and I doubt that some online words will change his future actions if he is indeed a thief. Although he does seem to be a fag.... Oh well, label him a thief and carry on.

Can you explain away that one? Honestly, this would have been over if you had just kept your mouth shut and NOT tried to save your ass.

@jrrdw: Yes, I did see that, that's the very text I analysed.

@HaiThar: If there had been spam pics, it would have been easily proved that it was someone pissing around.
As it wasn't, that leaves a much stickier mess. Honestly, if I wanted to get someone in some mess, I would go for credible "wrongdoing", not spamming.

EDIT: Before anyone starts attacking me, I am being impartial, and seeing both sides here, I am not directly supporting either side.
