Paintball guns simply use a metered VOLUME of air. The tank is the only thing that supplies/regulates the input pressure, but there are secondary regulators that can further regulate the pressure.

maybe it shoots a greater distance becaus its using 12gr co2? so it uses more air than a normal pneumatic

I got 3 regulators off Ebay.One regulates down to 10 bar, the other two to 4.
Payed only 5,50 Euro for them.
Waiting for them to be delivered this week.
There must be tons of regulators available through Ebay for Americans though...
In Europe it's a little harder to find, but not impossible.
I'll sell one of the 4bar regs to anyone if I can help 'em out (here in Holland)

thats a co2 adapter so he can use 12 gram CO2 powerlets in it

spudshot is right, these pneumatic cannons are not toys at all, if you want to use one of these for paintball you would have to use very low PSI's and one of those speed checker things (forgot what their called). that way you could see exactly how much fps these things are getting, and you could compare it to a paintball gun. using them as a mortar would be the best alternative.

If the guys at the paintball place would let me (they won't ) I would get one of my guns with a 2" barrel and just pour like 40 balls in and shoot it straight up after I get out my umbrella.

Chronograph or chrono is what we call it at the fields. Ok, heres a quick explaination of pb guns

Ok, most lower end pb guns use Co2. They are not regulated as it comes out at about 800-900 PSI until it pretty much runs out. Co2 can be regulated but its hard because sometime liquid comes out alot. Which inturn can jack up your reg. You can buy anti-siphon tubes for co2 bottles which eliminate MOST of it but you cant be sure.

Second, most higher end guns use nitrogen. It's really compressed air I dont know why it has been called nitro but thats besides the point. It's never in liquid form so to get as much, it goes MUCH higher pressure. Nitro bottles can be from 3000 PSI all the way up to 5000. It doesnt come out of the bottle at that pressure though. It comes out at 800 PSI due to a first stage reg on the bottle. Then most high end guns have an HPR and an LPR which is a high pres reg and a low pres reg. For instance, on my gun, the HPR is set to 280 PSI and the LPR is set to about 80 PSI which is the internal operating pressure. Anyways, there are some PB regs out there that you can pick up that can reg lower pressures like in the low 100's and sometimes lower and you can get gauges on them. They have nice fat deep threads too so you could thread them into a nice hunk of PVC. All you need is some hoses, an ASA for the tank and then a tank. Nitro tanks can be from 50 bucks for a 45 CI 3000 psi steel tank to 300 for a 88 CI 5000 PSI carbon fiber tank with adjustable output. So it all up to you and how much you wanna spend.
