yeah okay, when i screwed them on, i would only get the thread in like 3 rotations, thats prolly not enough right??

The gas variety is indeed the thicker yellow-ish type, and contrary to what mopherman says, there is an important difference.
Also, don't expect more than about 1100 fps from air, regardless of the pressure or valve. GGDT gives some pretty odd results around the sound barrier.

@mopherman: I've used both, and I always get less leaks with the gas variety.

sorry about bumping this almost dead topic 
but i have a question about the valve, how did you fit it in the tee and have good travel because i noticed you have a threaded fitting straight into the tee so i'm confused about how you fit it in with good travel

Well, the barrel is .5", so the piston should travel anywhere between .25" and .5". There seems to be ample room for travel.
