Oh! I get it, the schrader acts as a firing pin. That sounds much simpler than what I thought it did. Nice idea, dude. That sounds like a great idea for a self-contained cartridge. If I ever build a cartridge rifle, it will probably use a version of those.

Yeah thats right, im useless at explaining my ideas so its great when someone actually works out what im trying to say lol. If it works as planned then it should be a great simple way of making a gatling gun and I will finally have managed to make a working one...ive been trying for ages now. Must visit the local recycle center and take the schraders off all the old bikes down there.

Haha, nice. Although, if it has a huge ROF, you may want to belt-feed the cartridges. That can be done by looping seat belt material (nylon?) around each round and using epoxy to make sure they stay.

yeah I will be belt feeding it, just gotta make sure i measure the distance between the barrels right so the shells dont miss the barrels as it spins

An easy way I see to make these shells would be to make the shell out of 3/4" Sch 40 and make the piston out of 1/2" Sch 40 (sanded down slightly, just wrap it in sandpaper, cut a notch all the way around and add and O-ring), but make sure the 1/2" is slightly shorter than the inside length of the whole chamber section. On the inside of the 1/2", epoxy a small needle so it sticks out the front by a VERY small margin. In the other end of the 1/2", add your schrader. In a 3/4" endcap, drill a hole large enough to let the schrader rest inside it. Make sure the cap is threaded, so you can remove it to refill it. I may use this design in a pump action shotgun I have been thinking about, although it's very unlikely I will build it.

yeah I like the sounds of that idea, I should be able to get parts for that pretty cheap, pvc isnt to expensive around here, Ill probably build one shell to test it, then if it works ill get a couple of lengths of pvc and a load of end caps and shraders and couplings to hold the burst discs
