on my pump the case is not under pressure it takes about 15 seconds to get to 1000
i forgot to say i cut one open and the output came straight of the pump threw fine coiled pipe to the out put if something did go pop it would just be the volume of air in the pipe and i think you would need allot more than 1000 psi to split 10mm copper pipe
after rereading you posts agen you said yours vented into the case so the case would be pressurized mine is different
home made compressor (i have reached 1800psi)

thanks for your concern
how do you calculate burst pressures ?
(im sure i could find out but i will probably end up with a load of calculations a wont understand)
oh and about feeding them with air more hassle than its worth if you if u want it to fill something faster fill it to the max ur normal compressor can do
then connect it to the fridge one to do the last bit

can we see more pictures of it and the different systems.
This caught my interest when i see that you reached 1000psi.

1000psi with a fridge pump? That just doesnt sound right, that would liquify CO2... and suddenly releasing this amound of pressure will cool your gun extremly. As far as i know to get really high pressure what you have to do is compress a gas then suddenly release it to cool it down and then quickly repressurize it while it is cold, you do that over and over again and then in the end you will have very high pressures, high eanoth to theoretically make liquid N2, very theoretically though!

If anything, Put an Air lubricator on the inlet.
A fridge compressor relies on a puddle of Oil that is slowly diminished as it is used not in a closed loop to allow its innards to move freely upon themselves.
and make sure your outlet has something to catch out flowing Oil, Like an air filter and a Desiccant dryer.

you want MOAR!?!??! you should be contented that you have tested it to 1000psi then you can use it at 500psi and have a safety factor.maggotman wrote:when i got 1000 that was just with the fridg pump nuthing else today ime going to try and feed it see if i can get a little bit more

Are you sure, the number sounds too high, and if you are so desperate for high pressures then buy a scuba tank and fill it up for 6$ at 4000psi...

i doubt i will ever use it in a cannon but its nice to no i could if i wanted and i want to see what is possible with a frig pump the worst that cloud happen is the pipe fail witch is no more than 5 cc and copper pipe tears and dosent give shrapnelALIHISGREAT wrote:

i wouldn't risk it... a 1000psi test is more than enough.

A scrol pump consists of two sides, which are connected but not permanently sothat one side han move, how what if i bolt or connection of some sort failed? You would have scroll pump flying around hitting what ever is it its way, and at 1000psi...*gulp*

just conected the inlet into my normal compressor when my frige one got to 1000 i slowleay fed it with air the pressur started to rise it got to 100 bar then i put more it got up to about 1800psi then ther was a small pop from inside the fridg pump and the pressur droped the morot still runs fine i suspect its blown a gas git or something the clim from 1000 to 1800 was very quick i was inputing ait at about 50psi the motor did change note like it was under more load when i started im putting air now ime goin to have to cut it open
i will take pics of the insided aswell
its a piston pump mounted on sprinks i will take a piccy when i cut it open
i have got to admit i was a bit scaird when it got past the 100 bar mark

who said it was a scroll pumpjohn bunsenburner wrote:A scrol pump consists of two sides, which are connected but not permanently sothat one side han move, how what if i bolt or connection of some sort failed?
