quick fix there POLAND... I was going to say the same thing, since it was what was suggested in the page fist gave everyone.

well if water is the issue, and the paint is water tight, then I would imagine that yes it is that easy.

Of course, I also imagine you could not use just any paint, but I'm sure most would be suitable if they stick to metal and are water proof, and I imagine the two basically go hand in hand...

Up to you to decide, I would imagine you would need to have some pretty specialized equipment to verify if it helped or hurt.
