Does any gas come out of the barrel when you trigger the blowgun?

no gas comes out the barrel at all. The propane tanks arent pressurizing anymore? I dunno why the gas would run out so fast. Anyway, the thread are stripped on the sprinkler valve, not stripped but widened, the trigger wont even tighten in i can keep turning it forever. When i used my thumbh i dont think it shot, it was just air coming out of the valve hole where my thumb was making a thwump sound. IDK, this is quite discouraging

Well if i unscrew the valve really quick the cannon fires, is the flow in the trigger valve too slow? Are there other trigger valves that perform better?

You could always PM sgort87 who runs Launch Potatoes about this. If you have a faulty product, he should send you a new one or help you out with it.

the sprinkler valve seems to work, its the pilot valve, maybe the flow is too low.

yes, but I understand the pilot came with the sprinkler valve pre-modded from LP
The flow shouldn't be too low, thousands of people use blowguns on sprinkler valves. Post a picture of the cannon and valve, it may help.

Is there a echo in here? Seems to me someone said something to that effect...who could that have been...oh wait, it was ME!
I'm glad you found the problem.

what do you mean i will try? you have no way of using a digital camera?
when you say the threads are widened on the sprinkler valve whitch threads are these, cuz there are 3 spots with threads on it in a modded sprinkler valve

Alright, I drilled the fckuk outta the tirgger valve and it fires, but it honks and only fires if its at 30 psi, any higher it lets out gas. I cant increase flow anymore than i did.
What are some other CHEAP trigger options?

D_Hall wrote:Propane coming out the blowgun isn't a problem... It's SUPPOSED to do that. The question is why isn't your valve opening.
Hmmm....
You claim the gun comes up to pressure. Check. You AREN'T complaining about the gun leaking so it sounds like the valve is sealing as it should.
But it won't open.
My GUESS: When you installed your blowgun you screwed it in too far and it is now actually holding the diaphram closed.
edit: The fact that the gun works when using the Mk 1, mod 0 thumb as the valve makes me think I may be on to something. Question: When the blowgun is installed, does the fitting extend beyond flush INSIDE the valve? If so, this is your problem!
Did you investigate this potential solution?
a different cheap pilot valve would be a 1/4" ball valve; $5 at home depot. And FYI, some gas is
supposed to come out the pilot valve.

Yes i know some gas is supposed to come oput, but it keeps coming out till its at or under 30 psi, then fires. Id rathernot use a ball valve, i need something as easy to press as a trigger valve, but one that doesnt SUCCCKKK

1st read this: Troubleshooting
http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/inde ... kler_valve
2nd read this: Honking
http://www.spudfiles.com/spud_wiki/index.php/Honking
After reading those explore the links on both pages you will learn alot.
Also try just using air, see if it makes a differance.

if there was a cheap and easy to operate valve other than ball valve everyone would be using it...
did you consider using a QEV to aid in piloting ?? not exactly cheap but it will do the job
post a vid of it... maybe that will make it easier to understand what's the problem

Id post a vide but i ruined my sprinkler valve doing a bunch of mods... its leaking, dunno why... any idea?
