Wich I had 'em all and a hacksaw...
:D
I don't get how guys that can legally own firearms can still be so interested in spudguns..

Oh well..I like them both.

I especially like the pump-action ( 12 gauge?) and the double barrels.I love the superpose one.

Of the handguns I like the Colt SAA looking one and of course the Luger Parabellum.
Somehow I'm missing a 1911 in this collection.

Great collection.

Still, no doubt, you bought it with some idea in mind for what you were going to use it for. Surely you didn't buy an expensive night vision scope solely for the purpose of having one.*

*To remain clear, when I say "solely for the purpose of having one", I don't mean "owning one to use it" - I mean owning it with no consideration of what will be done with it other than perhaps being able to say "Yeah, I've got one of those".

When I buy something I at least have some idea of what I want to use it for or do with it. It seems daft to buy a firearm solely for the purpose of owning that firearm.

"Because I can" accounts for 85% of anything I do - but mostly because I don't want to explain why I'm actually doing it.
It's amongst my trademark phrases like "Fiery satanic bollocks", "I'm alright... mostly" and "Oh crap. Run."

Novelty, mostly - and assuming you didn't buy it, the feeling that you built it yourself.

It's fun to see things as mundane as air and a potato exploding things.

You clearly do not understand the intent of the 2nd Ammendment.

Yeah, it's so they can shoot their own government if they start doing anything naughty. :D

Although I should note, on the occasions the people HAVE tried to shoot their own government because they've done something naughty, this is taken as a bad thing. :tongue3:

To me, spudguns are an academic excercise. The goal isn't so much to build a gun as it is to predict what that gun will do *IN ADVANCE*. It's all about proving that my knowledge of gun theory actually translates to the real world. A good result for GGDT is (to me) much more exciting than some video of a disintegrating target set to some gawd awful music.

In other words, I have very little if any interest in "damage pics" and the like. Quite frankly, the damage pics/vids around here bore the shite out of me. No offense intended towards those who enjoy that; it's just not my thing.

The 1911 just never caught my fancy. As I said in the first post, I've got a soft spot for foreign military firearms. You'll note that in the handgun category I have the Luger (duh) and the gun on the top (which most people may not recognize) is a Makarov (Russian Army service pistol for a very long time).

Well, only when the people doing the shooting are a minority and are removing a government which has the support of the majority of the electorate. There would for example certainly be a difference between trying to overthrow your current government when it was swept to power 12 years ago, and attempting to do the same now ;)

Thats a sweet little collection. i like shooting as well. among my favorite rifles are my Swiss k31 and my Russian m44 carbine. Both are in great shape and both shoot very well, but the k31 is much more accurate.

i also like to shoot black powder guns, make lots of smoke and are a real hoot to shoot.

edit- whats the one 10 rifles down, between the sks and the marlin 60?

Legally owning real guns is just taken for granted is all...almost to the point of being boring..well not really.

While seemingly related, spudgunning really represents a completely different pursuit...science, design, construction. Shooting it almost becomes anticlimactic.

This is the reason for the second amendment, if we didn't have it we would already be like Cuba. The second amendment is our safety net.

This is because they are mostly radical individuals who don't have the thought to organize themselves with other similar people, that and the fact that they lose makes them "the bad guys".

By the way what is the gun that is 4th from the bottom.

love the collection, from what I understand it's illegal to own a normal AR-15 in California, is this the case? I was wondering why there wasn't an AR-15 in there.

Well, in any way, when the zombie apocalypse comes, I'm heading to the USA.
