Shrimphead wrote:Huse_spud, don't go comparing a supah valve to a end-cap piston. There is obviously going to be a huge difference. Any person with a brain can see this. How about you buy one, then make a gun with it, and then make the same gun with a normal piston. Do a distance test with the same pressure in each gun and see which one wins.
I was thinking cost and there i would be right.

hey shrimphead, anyone with a brain or life can tell you if you spend $140 alone on a child's hobby that you have severe obsessive issues. maybe you should consider living with ur mom for another 15 years until you get your life straightened out.
The only reason im on this site is to show my non-believng friend that i can shoot a paintball better with a homemade gun than with a storeboughten gun. don't go psycho on me b*tch.

grow up nerd, jeez this must be ur life. you think i'd actually do that test thing? i wouldn't if i gave a F#CKING SH*T about proving your poor unworthy nerd a$s wrong.

Ok, a few things:

1. I was harsher than I should have been, sorry.
2. Go look at all the people on here who spend more than that for a single gun and tell them individually to their faces that they have "severe obsessive issues"
3. Total, my TWO guns (really obsessive, eh?) cost less than $100.
4. "The only reason im on this site is to show my non-believng friend that i can shoot a paintball better with a homemade gun than with a storeboughten gun" Then why are you complaining about Joel's prices on his well-made products? Seriously, let him charge what he wants. Just because you won't spend that much, doesn't mean you have to diss on somebody who's successful enough to live off of his spudgun business.
5. Since I've only built two guns, I don't think that you can really consider this to be my life. Also, if it was, don't you think that I would try somehow to do the test myself?
6. If you want to see the tests that people are willing to do to improve spudding, making it better for everyone, go to advancedspuds.com and burntlatke.com.

Fine then, don't talk big sh*t if you don't think you're big sh*t. You made yourself sound like you owned a couple of those "supah" valves, but you don't, which makes me wonder why you decided to attack me in the first place because you have nothing to prove (issues).

And i don't really care about the supah valves prices becuz i'll never buy one, i just think people should be pioneers and make their own.

I just don't understand y so many people act like it would be impossible to replicate a supah valve and improve upon it. my friends dad owns a shop that is probably way bigger than the spudtech guy's garage operation. I bet he could make a better valve if he gave a crap, but who knows? he made a pretty cool spudgun for his boy out of welded steel.

And i apologize for my behavior, we simply had a misunderstanding. it is hard to percieve feelings from words. I'll try not to be so judgemental next time.

Huse_spud, no need to be so agressive. But I agree with your stance; they are acting rather silly... part of an unofficial cult, perhaps? (flips switch to "laugh" sign)

Adressing one of the sillier concerns...

"running that big lathe requires 3 phase power"
Nonsence... or he is using way more lathe than required; it's only 4" diameter polymer, afterall.
Anyways, it's only a few hundred watts for a few hours... that's what, .25$ or .5$ ?
