I know this is a bit of a thread kick but there was a request for diagram and I just got around to doing it. You can see that sort of recycled BTB's idea about the quick connect breach lock.

So you got the gas piston to work :D excellent! Has it had a negative effect on power?

I cant tell power wise as I only did dry fires before holes were made. I found an interesting effect of the gas piston system. I have yet to make a charging handle so I just get a few psi in the system, block the barrel and dry fire and it will load a new round. :)

irisher, could you perhaps go into a little more detail about how the gas piston idea works with the semiautomatic? Im a little fuzzy

JDP12, basically excess air in the barrel behind the projectile ports out of holes in the sides of the barrel to the air ram positioned outside of the barrel, forcing it backwards, and by extension opening the bolt. Brian did the same thing a while back with the intent of achieving full automatic firing.

its how the ak47 works, in this you can see every thing thats green its all connected and moves together when the pressure is taken out of the barrel
