Your piston may not fit in schedule 80 fittings. Take it to the store and check for a fit before you purchase. I see no reason you couldn't put schedule 40 into schedule 80 fittings, if they fit.

Yeah I'm *relatively* certain that schedule 80 fittings have the same inside diameters as schedule 40 but larger OD, if I'm thinking correctly. Then the pipe has a smaller ID same OD.

The issue here isn't the ability of the fittings to contain pressure, but their impact resistance. A better bumper would be the best option.

Sched 40 Pipe will fit into sched 80 fittings. My Dragon cannon is built with a combination. The breech is sched 80. The OD is the same. The ID of the pipe is different.

Yeah I couldn't find the schedule 80 parts I needed (specifically the female adapters) so I will end up redoing it in schedule 40 parts, my question for you guys is if you think the new bumper will do a better job versus a tennis ball that was bottoming out with every shot.

What is your piston made of??? Also, you could try cutting up some flip flops, aka shower sandals, for a bumper..

Piston is a solid piece of nylon rod that I machined down with my lathe. And the flip flops thin is an awesome idea, may just end up doing that.

Alright, so this thing is finally completely done. I added a red and black paint job, as well as redoing the piston housing and adding a much better bumper. Needless to say, I am one happy person right now
